Everyone’s Invited is growing rapidly and required a more suitable user submission system, a revised website that meets its more demanding requirements and an admin-user console that is simple to use for both full-time staff and volunteers alike.

A key goal of this project was to redesign how users anonymously submit their stories, with their safety being a top priority. Submissions are scrapped for names, dates, and locations on submission via AI, speeding up the human admin approval process and safeguarding all users. Once approved admins are able to bulk publish submissions with users provided with a submission reference number should they wish to rescind their submission.

With Everyone’s Invited’s increasing growth, the website’s front and back-end required revising. We implemented a serverless infrastructure that allows the website to handle unlimited requests, this is especially useful as the charity often receives huge amounts of traffic due to its virality on TikTok and other social media platforms.

To ensure that user stories can be processed and published swiftly and easily, the admin-user experience needed to be revised. We created an easy to use admin console with Forest Admin that is effortlessly simple with processes automated to support the volume of submissions and maximise admin-user efficiency. The Contic team worked directly with Everyone’s Invited’s volunteers through feedback sessions and by monitoring user analytics in order to provide the best possible experience.

With the website’s content being updated regularly by both admins and volunteers, the process needs to be as streamlined and simple as possible so the team is able to update the website freely. To fulfil this requirement we integrated the Contentful management system on the Back-End. Meanwhile, on the Front-End a Next.js SSR application was incorporated allowing for new content to be displayed without the need for deployment or contacting a development team.

Contic’s work with Everyone’s Invited has allowed its users to submit their stories in a safe manner, protecting their security and anonymity. The updated submission system allows for both an improved user and admin-user experience, streamlining the rate at which stories are published.

With improved submission speeds with user safety at the heart of the process, Everyone’s Invited is able to better pursue its goal of exposing and eradicating rape culture with empathy, compassion, and understanding.
